Online Solicitation

Unprovoked, uninvited, or unwanted requests to engage in sexual activities, engage in sexually explicit conversations, or give personal sexual information.

Examples:

Unwanted online solicitations come from not only strangers but also friends, and acquaintances. The two problem characteristics associated with close online relationships were high parent-child conflict and being highly troubled.

Stay Safe:

The key is for you to know and monitor what your children are doing on the Internet. You need to discuss the potential danger with your children and explain to them that they should never provide any personal information online.  Remind them to keep communication open and report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsure.
